Looking for some quick feedback on a tiny animation I made

What does this look like to you?
Does it look like gold reflecting at all?
If not does anyone have any tips how I might get that across?

more like sand moving than anything.
Ever wonder what happens if a cultivator get stuck in a medieval fantasy setting? What if he also happens to enter the new world as a dungeon? If that interests you then please check out my novel "Cultivating...Dungeon?"

It reminds me of the star trek symbol.
If you want to have it look like gold, try cel shading with two or three basic colors: one as the base, another as a darker shadow (possibly), and the last as the shiny bit which could move a little as if shimmering.

Congrats, you've found the following item: <Potato.> Would you like to add it to your inventory?
<Yes>/<No>
P.s. Too lazy to finish cleaning up my forum sig right now. Ignore half the links please.

I'll try that thanks. It's really funny you mentioned that about Star Trek.. there is a weird connection there. It's going to come out in my fiction eventually.

I can see that. My comic is going to be very 2 D old school kind of comic art so it's tricky especially because people are so used to 3D/CG art now.

That's not how phenomena known as reflection works, what you have is gold flowing over yellow.
Reflection increases luminescence values but doesn't actually change the color, like yellow fading into white. Yellow into gold is adding new colors.
Also, why do the frames slow down at the end of the gif?

Listen to your heart and write.

Reflection is more line than wave.
Think of how the light is moving as it reflects, find a piece of metal like a spoon or something and watch as when you turn it the light changes. That or look at a tutorial
