Pokemon Go - Which team??

#1
Hello all,

So my friend recently reached level 5 on the raging popularity that is Pokemon Go, and now he is being prompted a very important decision of his (pokemon gaming) life.

Which team should he select?

Personally, I am at level 3 in the game, so i do not need to care about this yet. But this is a question I am also interested in knowing as well. Plus, I also want to see if anyone on RoyalRoadl is engaged in this Pokemon Go. :)

I will refrain myself from the discussion and observe (for a while)

Please do humbly share your opinion!

Well, I'm also playing casually to get out of the house more with my siblings, so if you wanna have something in common with your favorite(?) Super Mod, pick Instinct, team yellow. :P

I wish they developed the battle style better though. I want something more than a curb stomp because I can't tap in time properly or slide. Heck, they don't even tell you how it works... Meh, whatever. As I said, I'm playing casually.

Congrats, you've found the following item: <Potato.> Would you like to add it to your inventory?
<Yes>/<No>
P.s. Too lazy to finish cleaning up my forum sig right now. Ignore half the links please.

You should join Team Mystic (Blue). We're kind of getting crushed right now by Red where I live. Seems like all the kids chose Red, and the adults chose Blue. School's out for summer break right now, so Red is leveling up like crazy. It's brutal.

I'm kind of in the same boat as Durrendal. I haven't really been playing it since I live in a rural area (barely hit level 6). It's not all that practical for me to drive several miles just to go to the closest Pokestop (or to even catch a Pokemon for that matter). Every once in a while, I'll pull it out during lunch break when I'm in town, but that's about it.

What team to select:

It honestly depends on whether or not he has people to play with. Taking down gyms and the like can be a lot easier if you're doing it with a group of friends, since you can all attack the gym together. And then afterwards, you can place your pokemon in and train against the game you just took to raise the gym's prestige.

The better the gym's prestige, the higher level the gym is. When it's higher level, it can have more people defending it, and enemy teams have to attack it a lot more to actually drain all the prestige points to 0.
