Looking For A Plant MC
#1
As the title suggest, im looking for any reincarnation or just natural MC that are plant based, such as
"Watching Grass Grow"
and
"The Deadliest Blade of Grass"
or just where the MC is something like a dryad such as
"Dryad Relife"
and
"The Daily Diary of a Mushroom"

Bumping this thread for interest. Anything new crop up in the last half year? Looking for inspiration.
I've been juggling the idea of writing a plant MC story myself for a while now. The idea in my head will put more of a focus on some realism mixed with magic. Nothing silly like grass evolving. The better choice for a starting plant would be something like the Venus Flytrap, which is believed to have a rudimentary nervous system already. The problem is trying to make the story of a rooted plant interesting without either boring the readers or jumping from mindless to apex predator in three chapters

Well, I don't know how are you with it, but when I was a reader, I always liked seeing evolutions.
You could add tables, levels and evolution possibilities, which would help you in intriguing your readers and making your plant slowly evolve and reach the top.
Even if you don't like RPG style novels, you don't have to make it into that. Only partly. Just levels and evolution would be enough. You could call it as a world system or something like that.

I want to shy away from LitRPG where you get levels and blue boxes. If I go that route, I might end up taking too much inspiration from Everybody Loves Large Chests. Evolution is still on the table though, it will just be more like metamorphosis instead.

I started writing a story with a plant MC. Only the first chapter is up (second going up later today!) but it isn't entirely from his perspective. I shift the perspective around a lot at the beginning to flesh out the world while my seed is sprouting :)

Bump to bring this thread back to the top. Still looking for a good plant MC. Any new ones that came out lately?

The strongest job… Gardener? By EsperReal. Might fit you bill. The main character doesn’t start out as a plant but becomes one as the story progresses. (If I remember correctly)

I can self-advertise since my MC is an Ent, though the story is still but a cute baby and rough around the edges.
I am a dipshit and I deserve to die, but I won't. Hue.

Bumping the thread to ask if there's anything new out there now. Always on the lookout for plant MCs, but I can't seem to find anything to my liking.

Don't know what this bumping the thread is, but would like to know more plant stories.

I'd like to forward the idea of death rebirth stuck evolving every generation. Or every couple what ever works.

Sup,
I'm writing a fiction about tree reincarnation. The real story starts from chapter 12, and the first few chapters are buildup for the rest of the world. You can check it out if you're interested here. It basically fits all of the requirements listed above.

World Tree, plant dungeon, Dryads, people seem to like that sort of stuff. Nature is cool, I guess.
