Looking for something different.

Litteraly anything that stands out from the normal Harem infested, sex-driven, overgored stuff that I've been finding on the net. Anythings fine as long as its different.

Something different? Check out that link in my signature called "70+ things to read" or that thread titled similarly in the recommendations forums. While some of it probably isn't what you want, there's plenty of things that may interest you. Give them a shot. If nothing else, it'll keep you occupied for a while.
Happy reading.
Happy reading.
Congrats, you've found the following item: <Potato.> Would you like to add it to your inventory?
<Yes>/<No>
P.s. Too lazy to finish cleaning up my forum sig right now. Ignore half the links please.

Getting Hard How about trying my VR story. It's a VR and you have probably read tons of those but you could try mine out. But it's not "Harem infested, sex-driven, overgored stuff".

Well, I can offer you another kind of harem story, which kinda takes the stuff you're complaining about in a kinda satiric way, while being serious enough to not be catogirized as pure comedy. It's called "I hate being wed in a fantasy world!", which I started as a kind of protest. Somehow it ended up released and I'm about to start releasing the next volume next week.
Otherwise, just pick any one story from this list, these stories are sure to entertain. ;)

If you're looking for different in the vein of RRL's take on the LitRPG genre... I must recommend "No Respawn" by jmlikestorock009.
It throws the whole LitRPG genre on it's head. It's different. Throws the tropes of 'harem,' 'gore-infested,' and 'sex-driven' around in a satirical sort of way.
If you're looking for different in the vein of Science-Fiction that avoids 'harem,' 'gore-infested,' and 'sex-driven'... I must recommend "Desolate Stars" by bubbleduck.
It's cerebral science fiction, character-heavy, and straight to the point.
If you want different in the vein of cyberpunk, near-future, different than all the rest... I must recommend "Once Giants" by TeamContact.
Very different. Hard to classify. Well-written. I don't believe there are any harems, sex or gore in it, either.
And finally, if you want a (dark) fantasy story that has zero harems, zero sex, and where the violence isn't gory at all... I must recommend "The Vorrgistadt Saga" by a really wonderful gent by the name of SovereignofAshes (I hear great things about him, next George R.R. Martin, they say).
This story is highly character driven, rational, detailed, and from what I hear... So different from what's out there right now that the author is having a hard time getting a conventional audience. So it has some hipster-value to it as well. Very elite.

litRPG? Satire? Don't worry, I'm here!
http://royalroadl.com/fiction/6523
It may be better to call it tongue-in-cheek than satire. It's definitely...different.

Something different?
Since theres quite a few posters that gave their recommendations on royalroad already, I'll be doing some offsite recommendations.
Taint
Did you ever read Aifureta and enjoy the first volume? Well taint is what the first novel should've been. Essentially a xanxia novel except it is done right. No romance (so far, if any at all).
A little girl is kidnapped from her family by unknown assailants, is imprisoned into a gigantic, endless cave filled with ravenous monsters, is infected by the monsters’ poisonous blood, the Taint, and dies.
When she wakes up again, she’s not exactly the same, either physically or mentally.
Her only goals in life, now: get out of this cave, and reunite with her family.
Oh, and also: slaughter, in as painful a way as possible, anyone who was involved in her imprisonment, anyone who profited from it, and anyone who even remotely gets in the way (plus those people’s families, friends, acquaintances, business partners…)
http://lsdell.com/table-of-contents/
Void Domain
The MC is a blood mage in a modern world who also is a demon summoner. She essentially goes to the Hogwarts equivalent, but her bad luck gets her caught up in some crazy events. Oh and there's demons.

Not entirely sure what genres you are into but if you do end up reading those two stories, it should keep you occupied for a short time. Otherwise msg me and I'll give you my full reading list!
Enjoy.

Who was a thief,
And wanted to stay low.

And Empires found.

If you're looking for something different, the RRL group The Order of Phantasmal Architects has a list of works which fall outside the typical RRL fare. The works are all generally high quality, so I suggest taking a look :)
Also, if you're interested in LitRPG, take a look at the story list by LitRPG Society

My fiction Once Giants is something different, I think.
It's character driven cyberpunk series, featuring ex-starlets of a failed bio-augmented wrestling league, who turn to crime and other things, to survive once the sport collapses.
Links in my sig below.

How Do You QA Test a Tsundere Android!? was praised by many as "different" from the standard on RRL. It's strongly inspired by Light Novels, but without going in the direction of harem or anything of the sort.

Self promotiom time! Whoohoo! Alrighy, but seriously, Ethereal Space. Female lead, space VR, Android butlers, functioning AI and murder mystery.
I would almost say Ethereal 'something diffrent' Space: http://royalroadl.com/fiction/8924

Ah huh!
I am astounded how on would miss How to Survive a Summoning 101.
Dark fantasy, psychological, Extensive world building, slight spots of humor and lots and lots of character development, or deconstruction as some point out.
Fair warning, not for those with a weak stomach for tragedy or zero plot armour.

Hi! If you get the chance, you can try my story. It's a high-fantasy called Lightning Does Strike Twice.
Hope you enjoy it!

I second both the suggestions to check J0nn0's list and also the Order of Phantasmal Architects (I may be biased, being a member of the latter).

I have different, there is my story. It's not like anything I've seen here. It's slice-of-life fantasy with a male elf lead, so yeah, it's different.
http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9687
Though it might not be the different you want because it isn't adventure or action.
There is also this story I found.
The Wedding of Eithne
It's just started, but I enjoy it a lot.

Good day. If you would like perhaps you can give my story a try? A twist on a heavily saturated genre of RPG.
It is called Weeping Rhapsody: A Side's Tale
