Feels like I'm doing shameless self promotion on these thread today xD. But, my Novus Magus' MC is from clans that were inspired by Mexican (which I happen to be) and Chinese cultures. His co-MCs also fit in. With the first possible love interest looking Native American and Chinese. The second lover interest shown is the same as the MC. The rival meanwhile looks Chinese and/or Japanese.
Some of the side characters are also resemble Native Americans (Wanikiya, Zelde) and Africans (Alto, Arima).

The "white" humans are Estarians, and the darker-skinned humans are the Pihranese (specifically, I have two characters from the Sulari noble class of the Pihranese). Also, my genetically evolved "humanoid" POVs are darker skinned, with the exception of one.  

It may not be -quite- what you're looking for as, again, it's not earth--but the cast is very diverse for all that.
