The adventures of a unique snowflake starts out as a human but he does wishes to have the power to evolve so they eventually become a non-human.

Well Vesper gets mutated into a wasp monster and later on (we have not gotten there yet) she advances in physical form. It is a Superhero story that is a little dark at times. While I do warn about rape I don't particularly go into detail and usually skip over sex scenes, granted there is the erotica chapters, but they are boldly noted and can be skipped. You might like it.
