From what I can remember, the mc was reincarnated and woke up in a mysticsal forest. He makes his way out to a village, finds a mage who basically figures out that he is a bad ass with magic. The premise of the story was that in that world knowledge is literally power, and so our mc, after playing a bunch of mmo/fantasy typed games, is completely overpowered. I just remembered the story the other day, and tried in vain to find it. I dropped it when I caught up with the chapters that were out, and I figured I'd just read it when its finished/has more chapters out. Thanks in advance.

That sounds an awful lot like Unparalleled which has unfortunately been dropped. Or put on hiatus, doesn't really matter which though, since the last chapter update was ~7 months ago. If it's that one you are probably still caught up. If it isn't that one, lemme know when you find it so I can give it a read.
