Maromar's review list
#1
I'm already doing this for random fics, so I thought that I may as well open up a forum topic for authors who actually want reviews. Samples of my review style can be found via my profile.
On another note, I'm considering porting my reviews over to my main blog as well, it'll serve as a little signal boost for the both of us.
No need to look over my stuff in return. From requesters, all that I ask is that you drop a link and a short description via reply or PM. If you don't, I still might get to you, but I can't promise any degree of speed.
I don't like to discriminate by genre, but do know that I am not likely to review smut without a plot. If I refuse to review anything else, I'll make an effort to provide a reason bellow. If you don't want me to review your fiction for any reason, and find its title here, shout at me. I'll nix it from the list.
The list is now a google spreadsheet (with colors, yay!) which can be accessed via this link If you know of a way to directly embed it, I'd appreciate ya sharin' tha beans!
Note: if you requested a review, but are missing from the list, it's a mistake. yell at me on this thread or via PM and I'll rectify it.
1/14/2020: In an effort to keep the reviews current, I've unfortunately pushed back the old members of the list. If you still want your story to be reviewed, tell me and I'll give it priority.

I'll take you up on your offer.
Title - The Undying Prince
Link: http://royalroadl.com/fiction/12313/the-undying-prince
Synopsis – It has been centuries since the Sorcerer-Kings of old destroyed the world in their mad race to create ever-more-horrifying creatures. Now in the Fourth Age, known as the Age of Monsters, humanity clings to life by its fingernails, hidden behind walled cities and towns.
On the island of Daði, four kingdoms exist in an uneasy truce, ruled and protected by Cultivators with the power to break the Laws of Nature. There, Prince Erik, an unranked Cultivator and the descendant of a sorcerer’s experiment, is attacked by an ancient predator, a beast birthed in the molten core of a long dead world. And as the abomination devours him, something monstrous awakens within his blood.

I will shamelessly take on your offer :).
Link: http://royalroadl.com/fiction/5921/tales-of-astora-legacy-finished
Synopsis: Over the course of time, countless heroes have risen to defeat the demon lord. Their names, recorded in history. Tales of their achievements are known across the land. But what about the demon lords who have fallen? What of their side of the stories? One such tale is about a young boy born of Dark. What would he do now that all the powers of the old demon lords of the past belong to him? Would he pursue the path of Dark he was destined to? Or would he reach out to the Light at the cost of his own life? There is no other path. And yet he seeks it, insatiably.
I recommend reading up to chapter 24 for a correct overview of how the novel is going to be. It is actually completed and the second volume, which is a direct sequel, is ongoing now. Tell me if you are interested in it!
Again, thank you :)

Sorry for the late reply, Heaven Dream, I've been neglecting RRL recently. Added your novel to the list. I intend to knock out many of them at once momentarily.

I'm not too late, right?
Well here's the link: https://royalroadl.com/fiction/12020/god-blade
Theo, a prodigy of sword and an aspiring adventurer, lives in an RPG-like world where everyone has their own level and skill. However, his is a hardcore RPG world where more than half of its human never gets higher than level one.
So who is Theo you ask? Was he a ninja trying to be a leader in his hidden village? Was he trying to be a pirate king? Maybe a teenager summoned from another world? A chosen one of the god? A man whose girlfriend is secretly the demon queen? A cook in a journey to make the greatest dish? Or maybe The 27th reincarnation of an ancient forgotten conqueror?
Well, No. Theo is a man born in that world. An NPC you might say. Not only that, he wasn't even the true hero or the main protagonist of his own world. But he does have to meet all those people during his journey to accomplish his dream.
-----
You don't have a problem with a harem story, right? If you have, sorry then.

Added it, ketu0. The harem's fine in this case as it seems to not be the only thing going for the story.

I need some reviews on my story. I am already about 300 pages in, but I only have one review so I need some feedback whether it's good or bad. My story is 13th Soul- Book 1 The God Slayer
http://royalroadl.com/fiction/12673/13th-soul--book-1-the-god-slayer
My story is in a fantasy world about a girl that is unique compared to everyone else but suffers for it. She chooses to become strong for her own peace of mind and this is a story about her journey. It's not a reincarnation or heroes summoning.

Mn, queued it up, church13.
Also, thanks for your concern Tanaka, the current list is a bit much but I don't mind it. If it gets overwhelming I'll post a stop order for a while.

Hello Maromar. Thank you for the review the other day. I was so happy about it. The score was kinda disappointing but the content motivated me a lot.
Do you have any tip for me how to improve my writing? I guess there is a problem with style but I do not know how to improve it.

Hello back, Junior creep. I'm happy that you were happy with the content at least. Looking back, I do think I'm a bit harder on stories than other reviewers out there, so take anything I say with a spoonful of salt.
Style is a... difficult thing to talk about due to it being subjective. In the most basic sense, we're looking at things like syntax and diction; the ordering and construction of phrases and pure word choice. These are things that develop naturally through hours of your life sacrificed to the keyboard. There exists few true shortcuts to take, and anything you learn may garner love from one end of the audience while irritating the other.
However, a plethora of little tricks can be taken advantage of. Reading what you write outloud, reducing redundancy, and reading the works of as many different authors as you can to analyse their style, constantly asking yourself what works for them and what doesn't work for them, allows you to get an edge in developing your own style.
It's not an overnight process, but neither is writing in general. We walk a road beset by heavy rain and paved with thorns, but the destination is well worth the pain and discomfort.

I appreciate your review Maromar!
You were really too kind and you've given me a lot to think about while I write the next bits. So thank you! And I'll try to lay off the interludes, no one seems to like them.
