I remember the premise was that the MC follows a girl who goes missing after signing up to test a VRMMO at some facility and ends up in another world where there's 2 main sides, the local mages who use world magic and a race of dark f psions who use dreadnoughts to subjugate loads of planets, but cannot use magic. 
Oh yeah, and the first skill the MC unlocks (and most important one is Shadow Mind. 
And the important psions use these Psy-blade things  

I remember a few months ago the 2bd book was supposed to come out soon  but i be forgetting the name. I think it was something like endless blade, or oblivion blade or something?
