What MMORPG are you playing?

#1
I've been looking for a good game to pull me in and waste my time.

Having gone through a ton of games trying to find one I like, I have noticed many suck and don't give me that special feeling I use to have when I played Runescape, Shaiya, and Xiah Rebirth.

So I am wondering what the community has been playing to give me an idea of what else to try or retry in case you guys recommend me play a certain game again.

Games I've played (besides the three up there):

Aion
Aura Kingdom
Neverwinter
Final Fantasy
Maplestory
Dragon Nest
Blade and Soul
Tera
Guild Wars 1 & 2
Archeage

As you can tell, I fancy a certain genre of MMOs.
If I can't find anything else, I will go back to Guild wars 2 or Archeage, most like the former though.

Its a browser game with 3d graphics and its graphics are as good as top tier games.

Cant wait for Black Desert! A new Mount and Blade is also coming out. (don't know when). If you don't know mount and blade, I am not surprised, its veeery old. I still find it one of the games that can give me the best feeling of satisfaction. (when I lance someone in the face) plus there are lots of mods out there so you can even play as Darth Vader. (which makes it even more satisfying, when you lance someone in the face.)

At the moment I am playing GW2 and Ark survival.
Read my fic or..... (¬¦_¦)=/????/’?’? ? ??? ?? ??.

Mount and Blade is one of my favorite PC games, Warband is the best of that series in my opinion. Been looking forward to Black Desert myself.

I like the game, great graphics, storyline and voice acting for so many characters

Also like the faction wars and how the 3 allainces have different starts, pvp op

Yep, ESO: Tamriel Unlimited is a blast despite what everyone says. It really shines for people who are into story and whatnot, the fully voice acted NPCs are just great. PvP is also awesome, just steer clear of those damn WB spamming Stamiina Nightblades.

Also. Black Desert Online.
Stop reading this and focus on the thread.

Gotta say- I'm a new level of dumb. The only MMORPG I still play is Rift. I can't get into games with low available customization, nor those that try to railroad classes into anything, so I always come back even though it probably isn't that great.

Plus I can't stand first person and am pretty much just bad at actually playing and only good at coming up with weird stuff.

just finished Revelation Online beta test 3, for a cultivation MMO, wasn't that awful. Easier than swordsman or others. Looking forward to Dark and Light,
Project Genom, a sci-fi indie mmo Russian made still evolving. it is Early access now.
Looking to star Phantasy Star online 2 again
will go back to Black desert online once pc is moved to new house.
:) ;) :)

I'm not playing a MMORPG per sa, but you should definitly try the solo/co-op open world hardcore rpg called outward, literally made by a team of 10 people yet so amazing, here are some unique things about this game :

- You have to navigate the map not like a real life GPS, but like an actual map, as in you don't know your exact position, but have to navigate with the compass on top of the screen and landscapes in the horizon.

- There are 8 classes/specialisations in the game, where you have to learn the begginer skills from an instructor ( with money ), but you can only master 3 per character.

- The magic system is really, really innovative, you don't start but mana, but you have to do a quest (the prossess of doing the quest is really innovative -again- and can be done in a whole lot of different ways) as you start with a hundred points in health and stamina wich you exchange 5 of each for 10 mana, with a maximum of 200 mana and a minimum of 50 health and stamina (wich are always equal).

- There exists tve concept of burnt mana/health/stamina, as in for mana per example, sleeping regenerates mana and health and stamina, but the drowsinnes translates to burnt mana, as sleeping does help with mental fatigue but when you wake up you still can't think with your max capacity, burnt stamina gets up if you sprint too much and burnt health if you loose too much health, all of these can be recuperated with time and rest, but there are consumables that help with this mecanism.

- Even though I mentioned quests, you wil not be lited in any way in doing them, as this is the closest you can be to an open world, and most of the times you will act with your own free will, and you get to choose from 3 factions wich kinda affects those decisions.

- There is a concept called legacy chests, and they are 4 (I think) scattered in the world where you can leave items to your other characters as they count as your legacy, wich is very important in other runs, as items is basically the mlst important aspecy in this game.

- There is so much interesting details wich can be really annoying, but a LOT more immersive to the game and actually make sense, per example season change can cause a change in temperature wich means a change in items to suit the cold/hot, some magic exists to alleviate these conditions but you cant live without it, others can be really convenient and -again- realistic such as the fact that you can hang your lantern on the back of your backpack for light, wich frees a hand slot even though the lighting gets kinda limited as your body gets in the way (there exists a backpack with a pole? I dunno what to call it, where you can hang your lantern without you getting in the way, wich again is creative and realistic).

- Almost forgot to talk about backpacks, wich, while it may be included in the previous point, I tought that it is way too important to not have a whole paragraph dedicated to it. Basically, even though magic is a part of this game, there is no such thing as an inventory or an item box, nor is there a magical pouch wich can contain way more than apperances, backpacks is one of those realistic things thag are in the game, and space lanagement is one of the most important parts of the game, basically you have your hand slots and  pouch space, wich can get overfilled and hinder your stamina consuption and speed, and your backpacks space, wich obviously is a lot larger and can contain way more things, but here is the thing, backpacks (or at least most of them 😉*hint**hint*) hinders your dodging speed, and when most important monsters can 2 shot you (as the combat is this game is like a clunky version of dark souls) dodging management is very important (that is of you're not playing in Co-op as aggro management becomes the important matter there) and dropping your backpack before combat is the way to go, but if you die without your backpack on you lose it (but thankfully the devs already thought lf our pain and made the position of the backpack always present in the compass on top)

- Dying, if you try out this game, you're going to experience this a lot, but here is the interesting thing, your charactee does kot actually die, there is different scenarios for deaths (as in in the lore and story, per example when you die in a road it may say that a random traveler has found you almost dying there, and healed you and tooj you to the nearest city) and it may may not affect your items or it may even lead to more loot and opportunities ( this is actually a shortcut in many quests , definitly not talking about the magic aquering one)

- Crafting, sooo fun, you can either try to mix random ingredients to get whatever you want or buy recipes to learn how you make them, but trying to experiment can lead to surprising results (I actually was able to make a very good potion from almost the start, and it really helped to smoothen my adventure) especially since there are no advanced areas where monsters are stonger and loot is more valuable, and some random items that I picked up in my first hour where really useful even in the endgame period.

- The graphics, the character creation sucks, if BDO character creation is a beautifull painting the character creation in Outward is a 2 year olds painting of his shitty step dad dying in the kitchen, basically your character is gonnq look shit, but the views,oh the views,THEY ARE STUNNING,slightly short from BDO even with the shitty engine, all zones have their own themes ( theres 4 btw ) and this game was only released under 6 months ago, so I look foward to its progress.

Yeah, I really went far and made such a long reply, but I still left a lot of things out, and I'm tired of typing, basically this game is hard, the combat is shit, and some of the graphics are shit as fuck. However, the satisfaction is not derived from the combat but the obvious progress and the immersion, throughout this game I felt as if I'm that shitty looking character in the screen, and that I actually a choice in how this games ends and the parvour that I wann take,if I wanted I could've reached end game gear without vene visiting all the zones, the world is lage and great looking, the FUCKING music is sooooo good  even though the voice acting is extremely weird (The voice is way different from the text and they leave some marts out, so if you're a blind rpg enthousiast, this game is not the one for you (Sorry shouldnt have typed that) ) Most of people wont find it fun, but I think with most of the royalroadl people reading immersive mmorpg story's most of you can apprzciate this game (its not cheap however) and I really think yhis is the most underrated game ever, so without further ado, I'm gonna copy this shit for further references and knowk myself to sleep.
