Nighthunter

In brightest day,
In blackest night,
No typo will escape my sight,
Let all who worship hiatus' might
Beware my fiction
Hunter of Night
Now it's day and night and the irons clang and like poor galley slaves
We toil and toil, and when we die, must fill dishonored graves

The cosmic series: The first apprentice.

"Its been millennia since I have walked in this gracious fields." The starry night sky above my head reflects over the lake beside me in a spectacle of colors. The grass waves with a strange but solid influence, that touches the soil in front of me and inscribes with such a delicate but strong meaning.

"Do you accept the pledge, only brought to those who have the longing to create worlds and see far beyond, the great beyond?"

I feel the air surround my body, and so I open my eyes. "I do. For I am an Infinity wielder, conqueror of existence itself and the lord of the beyond, of the great beyond." My will spreads over the lake, the world, my soul...like a thin goo that relaxes me to the very core. All galaxies tremble. All universes tremble. All multiverses...the truth.

...

Leaning back on my chair, I hold the back of my head with my two strong hands and let the tread connecting me and the created avatar banish and dissipate like a soft baby blue light.

Words with of an electric nature appear in front of me. Its ferocious jagged lines make me smile...

"Wait till you are approved..."

The Smith and the Knight

--------------------------------------------------------------

Ovelia surveyed the mass of people flock to the Citadel from her window, the gaggle of humanoids appeared kin to paint. She hadn't seen this many in quite some time and the sound of their discordant cries reached her like millions of little birds to their mother.

They're fairly antsy down there. She thought absentmindedly.

"My Overlord, if I may." A voice was heard after a moment of deafening silence.

"You may, be quick." Her reply was immediate. She had been expecting one her Justicar to investigate, as she was barely in her sheets before the ruckus began.

"I have a letter from the Grandmaster. He says it is urgent." The messenger approached her with an envelope and she snatched it from his grasp.

Hastily Ovelia tore the letter free from the envelope's grasp.

My Overlord,

I have several topics to cover and you are busy as of late, so I will be brief. One of them being news regarding your need of meals brought to your chambers at irregular hours. I am afraid only one Justicar is available for this and it is Rena. She will be unavailable however when she is to escort your new adviser (might I also add, your adviser is not needed. The Council only wishes to have a spy in our midst so they can keep an eye on you. I have sent a letter ahead of this one detailing your need for discretion, as the Tournament was met with marginal failure on my part. I had thought my second would be able to handle this, but he was found wanting. He has been taken care of appropriately.) and from then on I would suggest learning to cook yourself. The Grand Library should have some recipe books which are easy to follow.

There is the manner of the Pledge. Return this if you decline, or tear it up like you usually do when I send you bad news. If I have not received a reply like you usually do, then I will proceed and have a talk with the appropriate individuals to have it approved.

Sincerely,

The Grandmaster--Acting Knight Undying.

P.S. Do not be angry with the messenger. They had to draw straws.

Ovelia rolled her eyes and tore the message into millions of pieces. She then snapped her fingers and it burst into flame, her lapis lazuli gaze filled with disgust.

"I will bring the news to the Grandmaster at once." With a bow, he turned to leave.

"Justicar, your name?" Ovelia grimaced and turned over her shoulder.

"Peter, ma'am."

"Peter, yes. You do good work."

"A-Ah...thank you, my Overlord." Without another word, he was gone. The room was silent again and Ovelia stamped out the magical flames attempting to ruin her bedchambers.

I've always had an issue where I don't finish projects I start.  I believe I talked all about it in the "How to join" thread.  I'm here to declare that I WILL fucking finish something for once, and it will be this story.

I might as well take the pledge, it'll help me keep posting. Very Happy

Synopsis -

A shroud of darkness hides the night. The sounds of battle echoes throughout. Steel on steel, clashing in the unknown. A clash of death, uncaring and unjust.

A band of mercenaries surround a mysterious figure clad in ragged black robes. Beneath its weathered cowl, two bloodshot eyes pierce the darkness. Finally, they’ve found him. The bastard who they’ve been searching for, for months.

When they accepted his mark, they were offered a wagon-sized pile of gold crowns; enough to make their jaws slam against the floor. They assumed it would be a tricky job, but never, even in their wildest dreams, did they dare imagine they would be hunting such a ruthless monster. A being, who the devil itself would snarl at beneath his breath.

Now, they’ve found him. That was their second mistake. The first being, accepting his mark. A series of mistakes they’d regret for the rest of their insignificant lives.

I release about once every two weeks, each chapter is from 1500-4000 words, I'm trying to make longer chapters from here on out, so expect 3000-4000.

Story has been live for two months, and has 20,700 words at the moment.

If I've done this incorrectly, please let me know. I'm not trying to waste anyone's time, and I simply decided to take the pledge after Oinos talked about the 'pledge' on Discord. Thanks!
Check out my two stories if you've got the time.
