What character(s) is converted to brake (<br>)?

#1
I've played around with several unicode characters to make a new line, and it seems like no mater what I choose (or the source I come from) they are all designated to make a paragraph when pasted in.

I would then have to go back and manually change <p> marks to <br> marks.

I even tried pasting correct HTML directly, but that will only work as dumped into the code editor, and doesn't really save time.

I'd love any advise on how to efficiently single space here.

Thanks,
Volos

1) Not a character, so it doesn't help unless I'm actually composing in RRL.

2) Doesn't seem to work in succession.

And to be clear, if I paste in a carriage return I still get a new paragraph.
