What happens when our world is entirely unaware it happened, and are playing it as a normal online game, even though what we see is as a game is as a real, breathing world to the now-sentient NPCs?

We will hence step into the boots of a young man. Is he a player, an NPC, a person from another world? Is he even real? He, and the fates of two other young men will be decided as each encounters a mysterious off-realm entity, some fighting with magic and some with technology, but all forcing the boys forward to their own mysterious goals.
