The MC in my story is a guild master in a virtual world where everyone is an uploaded immortal.
Its true setting is Post singularity/apocalypse, where all intelligent life is uploaded into an alien designed matrix.
Would this be a fitting story for you?

Release that witch, but that's not on this site (prince, local lord)
Dungeon Defense is also good, but again not on this site (demon lord)

https://royalroadl.com/fiction/14850/nighthunter followed this one from the first chapter released, love it (Firekeeper of settlement)
https://royalroadl.com/fiction/13361/orc-lord (lord)
https://royalroadl.com/fiction/15119/vampire-princess-reincarnation (ex-racial king reincarnated to start anew)
https://royalroadl.com/fiction/9157/the-administrator don't know if this one fits but mention it anyway (god)
https://royalroadl.com/fiction/12374/once-more (demon queen)

That did not turn out well. Sigh. I'm going to just stay as a reader and quit writing.

Don't give up.
Instead of trying to remake the same story, build up a different persona than the one in the original, and write about that person's way to deal with the same kind of situation.

Don't let others dictate what you can and connot do, I've seen Only Human and others being recommended multiple times in these sort of threads so that means people do enjoy your various works. Don't let the haters win!

I'm not quite sure of Nighthunter. I mean for the first 30 or so chapters she does take on a leadershipesque role, but doesn't actually do anything leader like except lead them out of the dungeon. She does almost nothing as far as I've read but go out hunting and leave the management to the fire and to her subordinates and from the recent chapters she kinda goes AWOL.
I would also like to put out my recommendation for Release That Witch and Dungeon Defence. Both of them quite good in their own right. Though, ClearMadness (Author of The Iron Teeth) kinda bashes Dungeon Defence on Novel Updates, which I somewhat don't understand. I mean don't get me wrong. He is probably one of the better authors on most web novels close to the standard of Practical Guide to Evil, but the almost one sided review was kinda grotesque to read. Plot holes in dungeon defence? The decision windows was one for the first book and the first book was to show the protagonist breaking through the mould of "The game" which he does and he goes OFF THE RAILS. In fact, the moment when the choice window disappears is the moment he realises that it isn't a game anymore and can be interpreted as a moment of realisation. Granted, there might be a few holes every now and then but that's only for the first book. The second, third the fourth volumes are so good I may have developed a kind of addiction to it. Yet, somehow 102 people like Clear Madness's review, which is unfair to the novel and to the potential readers who are influenced by him, especially when it only highlights the bad stuff of the novel without even mentioning the good making a somewhat imbalanced novel. And, if it was so bad than why did more than 1700 of some 2200 reviewers give it 5/5 stars? The storytelling is unique in the Isekai genre and is somewhat grimdark and realistic yet filled such EPIC moments that were more than entertaining for me. Especially in the following volumes where the story only gets better and makes DD in my top 10 Webnovels.

My Top 5 Web/light novels
1. Worm
2. A Practical Guide to Evil
3. Dungeon Defence
4. The Good Student
5. Eagles Flight
6. Iron Teeth A goblins Tale
7. Common Sense of a Dukes Daughter
8. Akuyaku Reijo Ni Koi Wo Shite
9. Akuyaku Tensei Dakedo Doushite Kou Natta (7 - 9 are kind of tied together but all three are in my top 10 so I'll just number them randomly)
10. Altina The sword Princess

Honourable mentions being Metaworld chronicles, Two Worlds, Wings of Sorrow, Powered, Release That Witch and Rakuin no Monshou.
Most of the above mentioned novels have leadership as an aspect of the story in one way or the other and if you want me to point them out PM me and I'll put them here or PM you.
