New Urban Fantasy: Charon's Oar (first in a series)
#1
Good evening all!
I'm excited to officially join the site, and share for the first time. I've just uploaded the first couple chapters of Charon's Oar !
Blurb:
What happens to the souls of the dead when Charon, a ferryman sworn to Hades, has his Oar stolen? Unable to navigate the river Styx, he turns to a contact in Iowa to track down the thief and retrieve his Oar. A sociopathic bounty hunter and his partners, able to slip between realities, have just twenty-four hours to complete their task before the souls of the dead pour over into the realm of the living. Welcome to the Flip Side.
As a heads up, the main character is a bit of an anti-hero. Occasionally narcissistic and displaying sociopathic tendencies, the novel also includes violence and swearing.
It is Urban Fantasy written in a casual style, and the main character does sometimes break the fourth wall.
Thanks for taking a moment to read my promotion!

Seems interesting enough to give a read. Good job on posting multiple chapters at once to start your novel. I typically won't read anything with 1 or 2 chapters.

Thanks Robertp3001! That's great advice and definitely something I'll keep in mind as I prepare a few other stories I've been working on.
There's more to come shortly with Charon's Oar, I just want to spend a bit more time editing before I share the next couple chapters - but I hope to fall into a rhythm, perhaps weekly, if not faster than that (real life and this silly "day job" get in the way sometimes, haha)
