Seeking opinion from avid readers

#1
I've got a quick question concerning frequency of posing chapters. I understand posting 2 chapters each week is ideal and that time between arcs can be annoying.

My predicament is that I've just finished the first arc of a new story I haven't released yet and was wondering if I should wait to post it until arc 2 is complete so that I can post 2 chapters a week and still have time to write arc 3 while they're posting.

I'm interested in anyone's thoughts on this.

If you're publishing a new novel, I would recommend daily releases.
It will help your novel getting attention and gain readers. And then, once you have a strong reader base, switch to a weekly schedule.

Now, to answer your question, it will depend on you. Technically, having a lot of chapters in reserve is always better since the shorter the hiatus period is between your arcs, the better it is for your readers. But this method has one inconvenient: the more you move ahead, the more difficult it will be for you to change something in your story (if you want to). For example, in my story, I have a good idea of what the few next arcs will be, but I only write a couple of chapter ahead of time before publishing them. Even though I know what I want to write, I like reading my readers' opinions, to see if they like the turn of events I'm taking (or not), and sometimes, to add some of their suggestions. If you're too ahead in your story, it will be difficult to change something. You will have to rewrite all your chapters, sometimes delete them. But well, if you have a very clear idea of what you're writing and aren't planning to modify anything, I guess this isn't a problem. In that case, I'd suggest you write the second arc before publishing the first one (unless you're too impatient :p).

I agree with Nerodith.
I am still fairly new, so I'll just give my personal experience: I had a good amount of content (more than 20 chapters) written ahead when I starting posting, but the first few returns made me reconsidered some parts and I deleted and rewrote entire chapters.
The most important things if you want good coverage is daily release at the beginning and then stick to a regular schedule. I didn't know that so I started a bit slowly. (^-^)'

Good luck with your story.
