The bottom is the cover art for one of my novels. From drawing on paper then to digital.

Here what I was trying to do from the following pictures below. I try doing pixel art. I think I was doing it?
I was working on a character for my next novel.

My goal is to reach this level!

The mountain is too high. Any critiques and tips or tutorials is appreciated.
I already know one: Practice, practice, practice. Then give up.

Do you have a drawing tablet (like a Wacom), or are you doing everything with a mouse? What kind of software are you using?

That makes a huge difference, at least for me, in what I'm capable of digitally. Before the Wacom: Pixel Art. After: Everything else I've done. I also signed up for Pluralsight last year and ran through quite a few tutorials on concept-art style landscapes and the like. Those helped tremendously.

I'm using Huion H420 and using FireAlpacha as my software. For pixal art, I found myself using a mouse more often. I checked Pluralsight, it's one of those course site. I'm going for broke, haha. I'm searching up concept-art style, thank you for the tip.

It's great that you've got a pad for the more concept-art style you want to aim for.  I've never heard of FireAplacha, though I know that GIMP is also free if you're looking for something that feels like Photoshop.

I know that concept artist Jonas De Ro posts some things on Youtube, though I'm not sure if they're full on tutorials like those he posts to the course site.

I know that many of the course sites offer Free Trials, and that you can get in a whole course, sometimes more, utilizing that.  For me, Youtube helps to inspire me to do art, but there are far more speed paintings and fast-forwarded videos than actual course-style tutorials, so I eventually bit the bullet and signed up (after utilizing a free trial, of course) for one.

I'd recommend checking out a few to see what their trials are like.  Pluralsight, Skillshare, and CGSpectrum all have trials or free courses of some kind, and there are plenty sites like them.  Might not last you very long, but it's a start?
